Udenna Foundation rekindles hope of Davaoeños in need

Jan 09, 2023

A lot of us look forward to the festivities during the Christmas season. For some, however, the holidays are a tough time.

To spread hope, kindness, and joy to underprivileged children and elderly in Davao, Udenna Foundation, Inc. (UFI) and PNX-Udenna Insurance Brokers, Inc. (PUIBI) hosted a series of outreach programs. This initiative is in line with the Udenna Group’s advocacies to help achieve inclusive and quality education for all, and work towards the United Nations’ goal of ensuring that the vulnerable have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services.

One of the beneficiaries of the Foundation is Datu Salumay Elementary School, an institution that UFI and PUIBI have been serving for ten years. Two hundred forty-nine students were helped through a gift-giving, grooming, and feeding program.  The Foundation provided bags, school supplies, slippers, and treats to help equip them for their learning journey.

Other beneficiaries of UFI’s outreach program include Gumayan Integrated Elementary School, Missionaries of Charity, and Co Su Gian Home for the Aged who have likewise received goods and supplies to brighten up their holidays.

“We are happy to make kids, lolos, and lolas in need happy. Our communities in Davao are very close to our hearts and we plan to keep on supporting them for many years to come,” said Dennis Uy, Chairman and CEO of the Udenna Group.

“It is heartwarming to see them smile, especially in this holiday season. We are humbled and grateful that we can help our communities and share the joy of giving with our team” said Udenna Foundation President Cherylyn C. Uy.

With the Filipino bayanihan spirit, the Udenna Group is hopeful that its small acts of kindness will reverberate and impact more lives.
